Yup. Considering you can lock someone out of your head with a Wisdom check and several Wizard options and he particularly hates it if you try and go all Detect Thoughts or use the parasite on him… I always took it as read the worm tried to initiate the handshake and Gale just batted it aside like, “Nope.”
